The 3Q Challenge started on March 1st of 2001 as a fun and interesting project to create interest in making a new doll or item "out of the blue" and maybe get some doll maker to get 'out of their box' to create something different and unusual.  The main thing to remember about this challenge is to have fun, not to particularly win.

After 2 days, all of the fabric was sold and I had to cut more quarters for sale.  Soon, those were sold as well.  A total of 65 sets of fat quarters were sold the first go-around.  80 sets were sold the second time.
79 were sold the third challenge.

The Challenge in itself is fun, you receive 3 fat quarters from my website and a trinket.

The Challenge is also fun because you are not limited as to what to make.  You may make a doll, or you may choose NOT to make a doll.  Whatever pops into your mind, this is what you should make, and by all means HAVE FUN!

Another fun part of the 3Q Challenge is the trinket involved.  Every participant receives some sort of trinket; it could be an old earring, a button, a necklace, a tiny plastic alligator, etc.  This item must be incorporated into the project in some way.  Isn't that fun?  You never know what you'll get, but I am nice in putting in something that goes along pretty much with the theme of the fabric.

How is the contest judged?  Via the public.  No one can vote twice to be  fair.

To enter the 3Q Challenge is easy, you choose (or maybe not, depending on the challenge) the fabric from the website, make your item and send in pictures via email or snail mail.  The pictures are VERY important as this is how they will be judged.  PLEASE make sure you have high quality going for you.  Challenges start March 1st, June 1st (4th this year), September 1st, and December 1st.  The photos are due to me by the 2nd months end, just before the next challenge begins, always on the 20th of the month.  i.e. if you enter September 1st challenge, pics are due by November 20th for November 20th judging. (You have almost 3 months to complete your project)

Enter! It's fun, it's a small price to pay for 3 fat quarters (this will, of course, depend on my expense of the fabric) and what do you have to lose?
